My sweet mother, Carolyn Watson, was the world to me, and she still is. When she died unexpectedly a little over 17 years ago, my world came to a screeching halt. It hurt so bad; there were days I couldn’t catch my breath for the pain, but, as a mother myself, I had to keep going. That’s what mothers do, right? She was the best biscuit and cornbread maker, a godly woman, a kind and tender-hearted woman (sometimes a little too tender-hearted). She had good days–and bad days–but she helped make me the person that I am today and for that I will be eternally grateful. Happy Mother’s Day! You are greatly missed!
